Charles Le Maire (April 22, 1895 – June 8, 1985) was an American costume designer.
Born in Chicago, he began his career in vaudeville and then moved to Broadway, designing costumes for shows like the Ziegfeld Follies. By 1925, he transitioned to designing for movies.
Le Maire was instrumental in the establishment of the Best Costume Design Oscar category by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Throughout his 37-year film career, he received three Academy Awards and an additional 13 nominations. He worked as the executive designer and director of wardrobe for 20th Century-Fox from 1943 to 1949 and continued designing after opening his own salon until his retirement in 1962. His final credited film was Walk on the Wild Side (1962).
He won Oscars for his work on All About Eve (1950), The Robe (1953), and Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing (1955)
