Summary:
To escape sinful impulses, Ben Harvey left his small town for Chicago in 1910. Where he meets a woman named Lil, who is the madam of the Bordello, which Ben mistakes for a boarding house. Exposed to the workings of the big city, he realizes the extent of government corruption and sets out on the daunting task of reforming Chicago politics, finding several allies along the way.
