ABOUT THE PRODUCTION
Little synopsis is needed for this Spielberg classic film. However, the art pictured here is not from the final version of the film, but from much earlier in the project’s development when it was known as “The Holy Grail” and was being produced by Dino De Laurentiis. Dino’s version of the film was never created. In 1981, producer Frank Marshall and director Steven Spielberg changed the name to Raiders of the Lost Ark.
The year is 1936. An archaeology professor named Indiana Jones is venturing in the jungles of South America searching for the golden statue. Unfortunately, he sets off a deadly trap but miraculously escapes. Then, Jones hears from a museum curator named Marcus Brody about a biblical artifact called the Ark of the Covenant, which can hold the key to humanly existence. However, he will have to fight his enemy Rene Belloq and a band of Nazis in order to reach it.
